Like sitting in front of a chimney and standing up slowly to open a door that goes to a green field, Julian Barabino (AKA Jules Wineheart) , actual Judas and the Winehearts member, guides us step by step, with his solo project, through a territory of intimacy until landing in his naked soul. Through stories of his own life and experience, Julian’s emotions are shown with austerity and sincerity.
Subtle reminiscences of Judas and the Winehearts become noticeable in the angelic back voices that condiment the melodies when they rise and reach the decisive spot in the song, before returning to a quiet state that proofs the beauty of simplicity, going beyond the modern and the old and submitting us to the solo recordings of Syd Barret, or the arrangements full of nuances of Kurt Vile.
The drama of life -or a life turned to a drama- imbues this silent yell that take the shape of songs which aim is to reach the hearts of listeners.
